This rare Antique St Esprit pendant is an extraordinary survivor of the Victorian / Austro-Hungarian era, richly detailed in Gilded Sterling Silver, glowing Enamel and vibrant gemstones. The Holy Spirit dove is beautifully rendered in crisp white Enamel with a halo of vivid green Emeralds, red Ruby tail feathers and a glorious old cushion-cut Sapphire at its heart.
The colour palette is exquisite: white, green and orange Enamel, a playful blue-and-white polka-dot Enamel bale, sparkling natural Sapphires and Rubies, and soft, lustrous natural Pearls. A Mother-of-Pearl teardrop suspends from a delicate Pearl chain, finishing the piece with a romantic, devotional flourish. Item Details
ERA: Victorian / Austro-Hungarian, c.1880–1900.
MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 77mm long x 47mm wide, including the bale and dangling chain.
Central Sapphire is approx. 7.7mm long x 7mm wide, weighing approx. 1.50ct.
Smaller Sapphire in the bird’s head is approx. 3mm in diameter.
Eighteen round Emeralds range from approx. 2mm to 2.5mm in diameter.
Ruby accents in the tail graduate from approx. 2mm to 3mm in diameter.
Pearls on the chain graduate from approx. 2mm to 3mm in diameter.
Mother-of-Pearl drop is approx. 9mm long x 4.5mm wide.
WEIGHT: 12.9g.
MATERIALS: Tests as Gilded Sterling Silver, Enamel, Natural Sapphires (central Sapphire approx. 1.50ct), Rubies, Emeralds, natural Pearls, Mother-of-Pearl.
STAMPS: “930” stamp to back of Mother-of-Pearl drop.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.
Condition
EXCELLENT: The Sapphires, Emeralds, Rubies and Pearls are all well-set with bright colour and only natural inclusions visible under magnification, including characteristic inclusions to the Rubies. The Enamel is crisp and vibrant with minimal surface wear. There is a visible split across the Mother-of-Pearl drop, but it remains securely set and stable. The Gilded Sterling Silver framework and chains are strong, with only gentle antique patina.

A layaway is an interest-free payment plan that enables you to reserve an item with an initial deposit, and then pay the balance over 60 days.
Layaway is very popular with Lillicoco customers, particularly when making a more considered purchase.
How It Works
In total, you will make three payments over three months:
Day 1: 33.33%
Day 30: 33.33%
Day 60: 33.33%
Your layaway purchase is reserved for you as soon as the initial payment has been taken.
Your order is shipped once the full balance has been paid.
All of our usual terms and conditions apply with a layaway purchase, although 15% of the invoice total is nonrefundable in case of cancellation or return, acting as an administration fee.
A layaway is not a loan, nor is it a form of credit. A credit check is not required to put an item on layaway, and missing a payment will not affect your credit score.
If you do not complete your layaway on schedule your reservation may be cancelled and your payments may be refunded, minus the administration fee.
